Brands 2 Hands co-ordinates machine switchover for Compass
Brands 2 Hands, B2H, has completed a major programme of machine installation and refurbishment for Compass Catering Group. The deal included the replacement of all cold drink vending machines and coolers within the Compass estate (around 7,000 units) and was commissioned through suppliers, Britvic Soft Drinks and GSK.
B2H co-ordinated the removal of all equipment, refurbishment of Britvic and Compass-owned equipment and the preparation of new machines prior to installation. Britvic Soft Drinks carried out the site surveys and worked very closely with B2H to ensure all the relevant equipment was ready on time and in full.
The project was a massive challenge, believed to be the largest uplift/install programme of its kind, but was one which B2H was delighted to facilitate. Julia McKinney, project co-ordinator for B2H, played an important role in the efficient fulfilment of the project, which demonstrated the company’s ability to deal with significant volumes of equipment over a short period of time.
Lisa Bradstock, commercial director of Compass Group UK & Ireland said, “To say it was a challenge is an understatement, but rise to the challenge is exactly what Brands 2 Hands did. They exceeded our expectations and as a result we would not hesitate to involve them again, should our needs require.
“It was vital we had one company carrying out these movements to ensure there was no downtime and accountability from the beginning to the end of this massive project, which involved logistically moving just short of 7,000 pieces of equipment, managing the whole logistics, planning and co-ordinating with the different brands and site owners and of course keeping Compass abreast of developments at all times.
The project involved installing equipment both during working hours and out-of-hours, but whether it was fitting or modifying shelves or carrying out full pre-delivery inspection, Brands 2 Hands took care of it and maintained complete ownership throughout the project.”
Dean Sugden, director of B2H said, “In our business there are daily challenges. We see these challenges as opportunities to find better ways of working, using cutting edge technology, to provide a bespoke solution to our customers who include Britvic, Red Bull, Coca-Cola Enterprises, GSK, and Compass Catering Group.”
